Hit for 6 Instructions - Improve your batting & hand-eye co-ordination skills
1. When using "Hit for 6", always use your own equipment and wear protective gear. This allows you to experience the playing conditions you encounter in a real cricket game.
2. Before using "Hit for 6" and while the ball is stationary, place your feet in a comfortable batting defence position. The distance between the batter and the ball & rod will vary for different people but you should stand far enough so that your hands and the bat do not hit the flexible rod while it is traveling back for your next shot. We suggest a distance of approximately 60 cm from the stationary ball for the initial shot. You will vary this distance as you commence hitting ball on a continuous basis and moving your feet to meet the shot required as your confidence grows.
3. Using your cricket bat, hit the ball to get the pendulum action of "Hit for 6" going. When the ball returns, hit it as if you were facing a cricket ball in a real game. The amount of batting force you apply will be determined by how confident you are with the bat and defending your wicket.
4. Always try to vary your defensive shots by repositioning your feet and bat so that the array of shots experienced in a real game are replicated.
WARNING!
Do not bend flexible rod.
The "Hit For 6" swinging ball could return to the practicing batter very fast depending on the amount of force applied by the batter. It is therefore highly recommended that the practicing batter wear all protective gear including a batter's Box, leg Pads, Thigh Pad and Helmet.
The "Hit For 6" wall/pole bracket should be mounted in a position where it will not injure passing foot traffic or children;
While using "Hit For 6", the batter or an adult should ensure that no other person/s are within 2 metres of practicing batter and the "Hit For 6" apparatus;
Under no circumstances should any person or persons stand, in front of, play or observe the practicing batter from or within the direction in which the ball is being struck;
The "Hit For 6" wall/pole bracket should not be used for any other purpose other than that which it was designed for (ie, holding the rod in position for a practicing batter). Do not hold onto, place weight or swing on bracket, as this could cause injury and break the bracket.
The "Hit for 6" is designed for practicing your defensive shots. Do not subject it to a smashing shot, this may damage the ball and the flexible rod.
